The much-awaited glorious India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Premiere 2023 returned with its 39th edition. And boy! It was a huge success, generating an estimated Rs. 70,000 crore in business. The show, held from August 3 to 8 at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC) and the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC), attracted over 50,000 visitors from over 65 countries.
JWCC hosted Lab Grown Diamonds primarily, and NESCO was host to Natural Diamond Jewellery and more. Both exhibition centres were organized beautifully and systematically to assist smooth movement and effectively manage the crowd. A growing market for lab-grown diamonds in Western countries has contributed to the success of IIJS, which was the first to have an exclusive section for lab-grown diamonds. CIS countries, Turkey, Vietnam, and the CIS countries responded positively to the show, further expanding its international reach.
The theme of IIJS Premiere 2023 (organized by GJEPC) was “Celebrating the Spirit of India”. The show showcased India’s rich heritage and culture through its jewellery designs. Visitors got a peep into everything from traditional Indian jewellery to modern and contemporary designs.

Mr Vipul Shah, chairman, of GJEPC, was heard saying, “Last year, the show generated business worth ₹50,000 crore, and with the current trend of a 30% increase in visitor footfalls, we are optimistic about achieving at least 30% to 40% growth in business. More exhibitors and visitors translate to more opportunities for business transactions. Additionally, the market conditions are favorable, with stable gold prices and a robust economic growth in India and the surrounding regions like the Middle East. After some initial challenges, the market has stabilized. Considering the positive response we have received so far, I think IIJS Premiere 2023 will break all records of the past in terms of doing business. This will be our most successful show to date.”
